Thanks for pointing out that ahi has lower environmental impact than beef. I’ve never been sure how they compare.

As I showed in a previous Post (https://ecologistatlarge.substack.com/p/24-9-gaseous-emissions), beef production has one of the highest Greenhouse Gase Emission (GHGE) factors for any meat source, producing 3.12 kg of carbon dioxide per US dollar spent, or 75 kg CO2/kg for ribeye steak. Commercial fishing has one of the lowest factors at 0.27, so GHGE for frozen ahi tuna could range from 2.4 to 24 kg/kg depending on species and source. Still lower than beef.
